Clinical Trial Tools
User Interface for website tools that connect people with ALS to clinical trials

The Clinical Trial Tools webpages make it easy for people with ALS and their caregivers to find clinical trials through a guided interface. Users learn more about the vocabulary and steps involved in clinical trials while curating a personalized list of trials to remove barriers and improve patients’ quality of life.
I partnered with an ALS organization to design a variety of tools for their website that help educate and connect people with ALS to more than 800 clinical trials around the world.
User Interface
Responsive Website
User Experience
Cross-functional Team Collaboration
Challenges
empower users to make informed decisions about their health
build effective tools that connect different types of users to compatible trials
provide a variety of tools that easily connect all users to trials
Help Regardless of Knowledge Level
The clinical trial finder guided questionnaire provides a balance of accessible information and comprehensive questions that address a variety of users at various stages in their ALS journey. The website emphasizes the importance of enrolling in clinical trials that lead to cures for the fatal disease.
Variety of Resources and Tools
Thanks to the broader collection of clinical trial tools, users can find clinical trials that might be a good fit for their care plan through maps, filtered lists, and/or the guided questionnaire. All of those tools can be saved so people with ALS can easily communicate with their care team to find the best treatment options for them.
User-Centered Design
The design is based on user-centered design methods and prior research. Comprehensive analysis in close coordination with industry experts were executed. The ideation phase included paper and digital wireframes and prototypes.
