I’m a Designer

I'm Carolyn, a Senior UX/UI Designer and Design Lead with twelve years of experience creating responsive web interfaces, intuitive apps and HMI experiences, delightful motion graphics, and full design systems.

For the past two years, I've led design projects from concept to delivery, managing project teams and bridging the gap between creative vision and strategic execution. My background in graphic design, combined with experience as an in-house designer in biotech and higher education, and as a design consultant across various industries, gives me a comprehensive perspective on delivering impactful design solutions.

I practice human-centered design to build empathetic, engaging experiences. By understanding user needs and product requirements, I create intuitive, accessible solutions while empowering design teams to deliver exceptional work that makes a real impact.

I’m a Teacher

To share the design techniques and tips I’ve learned throughout my career and grow my leadership skills, I began teaching online at Skillshare in 2020. I have shared my expertise by creating six classes with 96% of student reviews saying the classes met or exceeded expectations.

I’m a Learner

One of my top strengths is learning. I studied graphic design, color theory, brand identity design, book design, and more at the Stamps School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan where I earned my BFA in Art & Design. I have since taken classes at schools like the Rhode Island School of Design and most recently completed a UX Design Certification and Project Management Certification from Google.
